Pharrell announces 'G I R L' album, reveals album art
Pharrell has been on everyone's radar lately. From his catchy, smash hit "Happy," to his electrifying performances at the Grammys with Daft Punk and halftime at this year's NBA All-Star game, Pharrell is inescapable and he just announced some big news.
Skateboard P has officially announced that he will be releasing his second solo album, G I R L, on March 3.
According to the iTunes preview page for the album, G I R L will feature 10 songs, including the "Despicable Me 2" soundtrack fun time anthem "Happy." However, no other song titles are currently listed.
The album will be distributed via Columbia Records and Pharrell seems pretty excited about his forthcoming project.
"When Columbia Records presented me with the opportunity to make an album, three things came to mind," Pharrell wrote in a statement. "One was the sense of overwhelming honor that I felt when I realized that they were interested in partnering with me on the album that I had always dreamt of making. Two, it would have to feel festive and urgent. And three, I instantly knew it would be called G I R L. I hope you like it."
Pharrell's solo debut, In My Mind, dropped back in 2006 and featured "Can I Have It Like That" with Gwen Stefani and "Number One" with Kanye West.
Can't wait to hear what he's been working on.
