Morgan Freeman 'marriage proposal' HOAX! Reddit fan did NOT get rejected by actor with cheesy 'Keep Dreaming' headshot [PHOTO]

Apparently, award-winning actor Morgan Freeman was recently proposed to by an avid Reddit fan named Jake. And here's Freeman's alleged response:

Sort of a bizarre story. It went viral on Thursday (Feb. 20).

Apparently, this guy named Jake "sent a letter to Morgan Freeman asking if he would marry me." Instead of a simple "yes" or "no," Freeman supposedly got clever and sent a cheesey headshot with the message, "To Jake: Keep dreaming."

Well, don't. It's just a hoax.

A rep for "The Lego Movie" star tells Gossip Cop that Freeman never sent that picture, and he did not provided that harsh response.

As the popular webloid points out, "The signature also looks nothing like Freeman's."

The source claims, "Someone has played a practical joke on Jake."

Pretty funny, although sort of cruel.
