Kanye West wants James Blake for new album
James Blake has certainly proven to have a knack for working with rappers (see: his remix of "m.A.A.d. city," his work with Chance the Rapper, his Drake remixes, etc.) and the biggest rapper on the planet has taken notice. Kanye West appears to want Blake's help in crafting a new album.
"I have been in contact with him," Blake told Rolling Stone.
He says that the rapper's busy schedule and Blake's own insistence on proximity have kept the two from working together already.
"You know, the way that I like to work is bare bones and personal. I think because Kanye's such an accomplished producer, if I was to work with him, then I think we could do something together, and just together, you know?" he said.
Kanye has previously referred to Blake as his "favorite artist" which Blake said was "nice," adding that he was inspired by Kanye West's latest album Yeezus.
It made me rethink what I'm doing. It's one of those albums, whether you like it or not, it should impact you in that way," he said.
For more Blake right now, check out his excellent remix of Beyonce's "Drunk In Love" (and maybe compare it to the other two).
