Nicki Minaj is ‘Cool’ with Hot 97 [Video]
Tim Westwood had an interview with Nicki Minaj and talked about the Summer Jam incident.
"I feel like it happened and there is no animosity, I still love them over there at the station," said Minaj.
Minaj pulled out her concert scheduled to close out Hot 97's annual Summer events on June 3 after Hot 97's DJ Peter Rosenberg called her single "Starships" as "bullshit" earlier in the day.
"I'm really proud that Wayne stood up and said, 'not anymore.' I'm glad Flex and I were able to talk about it and stuff, but at the end of the day Tim, in the last 18 months I sold 3.5 million albums worldwide. At a certain point, you just want respect, you're working hard," the singer explained.
It was actually Minaj's boss Lil Wayne who cancelled the show. He told MTV News that Minaj as female deserves the ultimate respect at all times no matter when or where or how.
Minaj added at the interview, "You have your opinions on radio and all that, but when an artist comes to perform you should just keep it to yourself, just for that one day".
