Inspirational singer, Vashawn Mitchell talks about what inspires him when writing songs on the BET Honors red carpet see exclusive interview
Inspirational singer, Vashawn Mitchell was in attendance at Monday night's BET Honors show. He talked a lot about Inspirational music, and who he was looking forward to seeing at Monday night's show.
Vashawn was asked about his hit song, "Nobody Greater," and how it was developed. The inspirational artist said, " I was getting ready for that record, so many people was like "I've lost my job," and so they were depending on their resources, and not the source so I wanted to do a project that pointed people back to the source."
When asked what inspires the singer when writing and making songs Vashawn said, "Life, life inspires me. Not just what I go through, but what we see from around the world. I asked God along time ago to allow me to write music that can live longer than I can. So that people could say years from now, "this song blessed me."
Although Vashawn is an inspirational singer, MStars reporter, Star Connor asked would he transition and produce any other genre of music. The singer said, " I will not transition to any other genre of music. I probably will partner with other artist to put out an inspirational sound, because everyone is going to inspirational. The world just needs uplifting, that feel good music."
The 2014 BET Honors was located in Washington, DC at the Warner Theater. BET Honors aired Monday Feb. 24 on BET.
