Whitney Houston and Jordan Sparks New Music Video ‘Celebrate’ [VIDEO]
Whitney Houston appears in the new music video "Celebrate".
"When we did the song, we planned on it being Whitney and me. But she's not here, so we wanted to make it a tribute to her. So it's fun, upbeat and exciting," Sparks shared.
The movie, 'Sparkle' due on Aug 17, stars Houston as a mother of talented young Harlem sisters, Sparks, Ejogo and Sumpter. The song, "Celebrate" produced by R. Kelly, is on the soundtrack of the film.
The video features cast members having a party in Sparks' apartment. The absence of Houston was filled by her scenes from the film.
"We're all just having a good time. They all come over to my house singing along to Whitney's music. And we're missing her and celebrating her as well. It's actually pretty simple, but when you watch it and hear her voice along with it, it makes it so much more."
According to Sparks, Houston already finished her part before the two singers found the time to get together. They had to record it separately because the diva's schedule got so crazy.
"But it was amazing to be able to go in after she had already finished her part. It was so cool because you could just hear the smile in Whitney's voice when she was singing it," she told BET.
