Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson 'Twilight' romance almost didn't happen? Starlet Emily Browning rejects breakthrough role, prompts Robsten relationship
Kristen Stewart's whirlwind romance with Robert Pattinson all began on the set of "Twilight." But if Australian actress Emily Browning didn't reject the opportunity to audition for the breakthrough role of Bella Swan, would Robsten even exist?
Several "Twilight" fans agree that K-Stew and R-Patz make the perfect Bella and Edward Cullen couple. But apparently author Stephenie Meyer had her eyes set on someone else snagging the role of the Vampire-crazed teenager - Emily Browning.
The 25-year-old actress starred in several hit films including "Ghost Ship," "Sucker Punch," and "The Host." She also stars in the upcoming disaster-adventure film "Pompeii."
So, what exactly does she have to do with the infamous Robsten romance?
At one point before "Twilight" casting, Meyer mentioned how much she "loved" Browning's work in a blog post. But Browning rejected even auditioning for the main female role. And even now, Browning doesn't regret that decision:
"People knew that Twilight was going to be successful, but I don't think anyone guessed that it was going to be as huge as it was. If that had been me, I might not even be acting anymore because just thinking about the way they were constantly hounded by people after that film makes me feel anxious. I don't think I could have handled that. I'm pretty happy with the choices and decisions that I've made. I don't really have any regrets in that sense." (Via The Stir).
Do fans think Pattinson would've fallen as hard for Browning as he did for Stewart?
