Bravo 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Cast Members Plead Guilty
Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice plead guilty to multiple charges of fraud March 4. Sentencing for the couple is scheduled for July 8.
The Associated Press reports that under federal sentencing guidelines, Joe Giudice, 43, faces a potential sentence of 37 to 46 months and Teresa Giudice, 41, could get 21 to 27 months in prison.
According to US Weekly, the couple faced an initial 41-indictment on various fraud and tax charges in July 2013. The Giudice's initially pleaded on Tuesday not guilty to two charges. An insider tells the magazine that they have reached a plea-agreement with the prosecutor's office. "The couple will plead guilty to several but not all 41 of the charges," said the source.
The Associated Press also reported the couple admitted on Tuesday to submitting fraudulent mortgage and loan applications and fabricating tax returns and W-2 forms. The couple had exaggerated their income when filing for loans and hid their assets when filing for bankruptcy.
In a statement read by her lawyer, she wrote, "I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family. Especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world," Teresa said in the statement.
The couple has four daughters: Gia, 13; Gabriella, 11; Milania, 9; and Audriana, 5. Season 6 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, including the Giudice court proceedings, is expected to debut mid-2014 according to Deadline.
