Surely having a new Doctor take over in Doctor Who is unnerving to certain fans, but that's how the show has survived for over 50 years and Peter Capaldi is ready to take it into a new generation. Though there are some audience members that can't quite comprehend the change, but that won't stop Capaldi!

Capaldi is currently filming his first episodes for season 8 of Doctor Who, but when a young autistic girl and fan of the show shared her concerns of a new Doctor with him he set her mind at ease.

"Matt was really nice to me, as Jenna was too," he told the young Doctor Who fan visiting the set. "They were both very welcoming to me when I came into the TARDIS. Matt said to me to look after Doctor Who and he gave me his watch and he said that in his own way he was happy that it was me that was coming in. So I will do my very best to be as much fun and as friendly as he is... I will be different."

The incoming star of BBC's most beloved series then took out his phone to show a photo of Matt and Jenna that he had taken.

He added: "So they say it's OK for me to be the Doctor. I hope that you think it would be OK for me to be the Doctor too... I might be a bit noisy at first!"

We're all excited for Peter's debut as the Doctor!
