Darren Sharper's ex-girlfriend never saw any signs that the former NFL player was a rapist

The ex-girlfriend of Darren Sharper is speaking out and saying that she was "completely shocked" by the rape allegations. The woman who dated the former New Orleans Saints for almost a year, said, "It's the opposite of the guy I knew."

The woman who wants to remain unknown, said that the former Safety was not a drinking person while they were dating.

She says, "He didn't want me to drink. Never offered me drugs. He was really concerned with with how I was around him."

"I've seen him help people. We went to a charity event together. He was egotistical, but the guy that I know is not like [the way he's been described in police reports]."

In fact, the woman said it was "weird" when she heard the news of the allegations against Sharper that spreads across 5 states. She said it was unusual because, "most women who would ask me about him would drop their drawers for him in a second."

She also said, Darren did some research on her before they started dating. Sharper's ex said her former boyfriend tried getting as much information on her as possible before he started dating her to take caution in making sure she wasn't a "crazy girl."

With Sharper's current allegations, the ex-girlfriend said "I'm hoping for his children's sake it's not true. I don't want to see him leave that type of legacy for his children."
