HBO drops 'Catch The Throne,' the 'Game Of Thrones' mixtape featuring Big Boi, Common, Daddy Yankee, Wale
Although we've repeatedly been told that a Game Of Thrones mixtape was on the way, it never seemed real until this very moment. The whole thing felt like some sort of Big Boi fever dream that everyone was going along with because Chico Dusty was so great. However, I can tell you that HBO has signed off on the idea and it's 100% real because Catch The Throne is streaming below:
The album starts off strong with Big Boi's "Mother Of Dragons," and before your head can wrap around that idea, it segues into a freaking dancehall song about the Iron Throne by Magazeen. Kilo Kish, Snow Tha Product and Bodega Bamz hold their own considering the subject matter, and Wale benefits from the best beat on the mixtape in closer "King Slayer."
The low points come courtesy of an awful track by Daddy Yankee and a lethargic Common.
