Tool are denying the rumors that their new album is complete. After word spread that the the alt-metal heads were finished with their long-awaited album, Maynard James Keenan and Co. said that there's no way they can release a new album yet. It hasn't even been 10,000 Days since their last release (You can't make me leave, and besides, I have an article to finish).

The band released a statement debunking the news to Rolling Stone.

"Last night, Adam Jones, in a private conversation with fans attending the Portland Tool concert, joked that the band's new album was not only finished but coming out the next day," said the statement. "Unfortunately, his off-the-cuff joke was taken out of context. Work on the forthcoming album is ongoing and as soon as it is done, trust me, we will be the first to let everyone know."

Adam Jones corroborated the story on Twitter.

Sorry, Tool fans. But don't act like you were happy to begin with.
