Young Thug may be down with Birdman and YMCMB, Reportedly still signed to 1017 Bricksquad
Just last month MStars reported that Atlanta rapper young Thug had confirmed that he signed with YMCMB but it seems like that may not necessarily be the case.
When it comes to Young Thug's label situation, things can get a little tricky.
Back in 2013, Thugga signed to Gucci Mane's 1017 Bricksquad but lately he's been claiming that he's a free agent looking for a new home.
In January, the "Stoner" rapper announced he would be signing to Future's Freebandz label. Boss man Gucci ordered websites to take down the story and the information turned out to be false.
A short month later, Young Thug told Complex that he signed to Cash Money.
Birdman's rep cleared the air soon after saying no paperwork had been completed.
But there's more. Billboard claims that Young Thug is still signed to 1017 Bricksquad, which is operated by Asylum/Atlantic imprint.
A representative for Atlantic only offered this information:
"We are extremely excited about Young Thug but we do not comment on artist contracts."
Young Thug still seems confused as to what is really going on.
"I want to sign with whoever got the most money," he said. "I don't give a damn - could have been you, if you was offering money. I talked to [Cash Money CEO] Birdman yesterday, and he's talking more than anyone, so that's probably where I'll end up. I'd rather go there anyway - it's a dynasty."
