UFC hits London

Over the years both American and British sports have become popular with one another, and occasionaly they cross the ocean to show the fans how enjoyable a live event can be. UFC is one of the biggest sports in the world, but the British fans don't get to witness it as often as they'd like, so Saturday 8th March marked a special oppertuntiy for the fans to enjoy UFC Fight Night London, in which the main event was the mouthwatering match between Alex Gustafsson vs London's own Jimi Manuwa.

The entire card of fights took place at London's famous O2 Arena, which sold out to nobody's surprise. Many were happy to see Manuwa in such a battle, but the experienced, proven Swede, Gustafsson, was no easy fight, as proven when he went toe-to-toe with Jon 'Bones' Jones, although he lost. The entire card was thrilling, but the main event lived up to its hype, with Gustafsson having too much power for the Brit.

Gustafsson used a powerful right knee and followed it up with a forceful uppercut, which gave him the victory. Instantly he told the sold-out arena he wanted a rematch with the UFC's biggest fighter Jon Jones. Jones has since taken to Twitter to explain he has another fight coming, but he wouldn't rule out a rematch afterwords, possibly in the summer. With the Swedish star improving, would Jones want to have a rematch, or would he relish the challenge?

As proven with the NFL visiting London every year, the UK wants US sport on a regular basis, so expect the UFC fighters to make further visits. If they're all as good as this card, the British won't know what's hit them.
