WATCH: 'Alien: Isolation' Developer Diary: 'Creating the Alien' behind-the-scenes- sneak-peek at new survival horror video game
Alien: Isolation is one of the most anticipated video game releases of the year for a number of reasons. One is that it's a brand new take on the Alien franchise, which has pretty much failed countless times in the video game format. Another reason is that it's a solid survival horror game that has released some of the creepiest in-game trailers over the last few months. The last reason is the "Developer Diaries" that have been released to promote the games release, which hits shelves later this year for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
"Delve into Creative Assembly's vision for the ultimate hunter, with talks from studio leads and key studio developers who have been dedicated to the development of the Alien," a statement released with this special video explains. "Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of AlienTM, Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance."
"As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien," the statement continues. "Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive."
