Wayne Knight dead or alive? Morbid death hoax slams 'Seinfeld' actor in 2014, Twitter confirms Newman NOT victim of tragic car crash

Just to get things straight - TMZ.Today is NOT the same website as the infamous gossip webloid TMZ. It's a (bogus) look-alike site - which means this viral "RIP Wayne Knight" report is NOT true!

The breaking news story that hit the web on Sunday (March 16) blares the  seedy headline: "SEINFELD ACTOR "NEWMAN" KILLED IN TRACTOR-TRAILER ACCIDENT."

The report then goes into very morbid detail about how the 58-year-old actor died when his "vehicle slammed into a disabled semi-tractor-trailer late Saturday night along Route 446 near the Pennsylvania-New York state border in Eldred Township." Two other passengers were also critically injured (allegedly).

The story sounds somewhat believable, which is why the shocking death hoax quickly blew-up on popular social networking sites including Twitter and Facebook.

Read the entire report here.

Things got so out-of-hand, Knight addressed the horrible rumors on Twitter himself:

@iWayneKnight: "Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but....I am alive and well!"

@iWayneKnight: "Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn't know you cared. Glad to be breathing!"

Indeed, it's pretty insane how so many fans are continuously fooled by such morbid (and false!) death hoax pranks. Before falling for such nonsense and spreading the vicious lies online, be sure to double-check with reliable sources like Mstars to get the facts straight. Knight is NOT dead - he's still alive and kicking with that sarcastic sense of humor!
