Chris Brown reaches out from jail

After being kicked out of a court-ordered rehab program, a Los Angeles judge had singer Chris Brown put in jail.  If a judge finds Brown in violation of his probation, he could face up to four years in prison.  The singer was originally sentenced to five years of probation and community service for assaulting singer Rihanna in 2009.  He violated his probation after a hit and run incident and another assault in Oct. 27, 2013.

According to a source at TMZ, Brown feels like "a caged animal," and says jail has been "the worst experience of my life."  He has told people over the phone that he "will never f*** up again."

Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, has tried to have Brown put in another rehab facility but, according to CNN, Assistant District Attorney Mary Murray pointed out that Brown has been kicked out of two facilities in the past five months.

TMZ has reported that Brown's lawyer has contacted his assault victim in hopes of reaching a civil settlement.

Geragos has represented several prominent figures throughout his career as a lawyer.  He represented former California congressman Gary Condit who was a suspect in the murder of Washington intern, Chandra Levy.  Geragos also represented Roger Clinton, former President Bill Clinton's half brother, in Clinton's drunk driving arrest.  In Clinton's case, Geragos believed Clinton was targeted by police because he was famous.

Among other famous clients, Geragos represented actress Winona Ryder.  Though her court case ended in her being found guilty in two counts of shoplifting, Geragos advertises that he represented her.  The New York Times reported that Geragos had said that store employees planted evidence on Ryder to avoid a civil suit.

Geragos has also represented the late Michael Jackson's against child molestation charges, though Jackson removed Geragos because the singer wanted lawyers who could devote more time to his case.  In a Huffington Post Live interview, Geragos said the charges were a "shakedown" and that the singer had made the mistake of letting people who should not have get too close to him.

According to the Daily Mail, Brown must wait until April 23, when his case goes to trial, in 23-hour solitary confinement.
