'Batman vs. Superman' movie writer David S. Goyer talks character balance

Production on Zack Snyder's untitled Man of Steel sequel, known for now as Batman vs. Superman, is underway, and while Marvel has the spotlight for now with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, fans are still ready for the first movie interaction between DC's two greatest heroes.

The film is known as Batman vs. Superman, but Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Alfred Pennyworth and more will all have roles in the movie. Screenwriter David S. Goyer recently spoke to Collider and discussed maintaining a balance among the numerous characters:

"I always try my best to honor every character. When you're dealing with big iconic characters, there's a lot of fan pressure to get it right, and I respect that and admire that passion enormously. At the same time, you can't let your creative process be too crowded by that or distracted by it. It's not always one uniform opinion of how you should portray this character or that character. I think I've done a pretty good job of walking that razor's edge. You just have to do your best and know what's out there, but at the same time, follow your own muse."

It's important to note that Argo writer Chris Terrio came in to work on the script, as well, and some feel that he even did a complete rewrite.

What do you think, comic movie fans? Will Batman vs. Superman (or whatever its title turns out to be) be able to balance all of these characters, or will the film get too crowded with too many superheroes? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
