The How I Met Your Mother spinoff entitled How I Met Your Dad has lost one member, as Krysta Rodriguez (Smash) has left the show mere days before the pilot would begin production.

Deadline first reported and EW.com confirmed the news on Tuesday and reported that producers decided Rodriguez was not working out after a table read, so they decided to make a change to the role. As EW notes, these maneuvers are common before, during and even after the pilot production and no one is guaranteed a role until the full series order goes into effect in the summer.

Rodriguez was set to play Juliet, a "sexy, flamboyant, energetic party-girl BFF," according to TVLine. She runs her own successful fashion blog and is happy to know Sally (Greta Gerwig) is breaking up with Gavin (Anders Holm), whom she finds boring.

As for the rest of the cast, Sally is a colorful, messy and unpredictable character and the casting info describes her as a "female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea of where she's going in life." She's on the verge of getting divorced from her current husband of one year, Gavin, when the show begins, and she'll turn to her group of friends for advice and support.

Danny (Andrew Santino) is Sally's gay older brother and an overachieving brother with a Type A personality. The two have little in common but are very close. Sally moves in with Danny after the divorce, which could strain their relationship.

But Danny's husband, Todd (Drew Tarver), is warm and outgoing and one of Sally's best friends from college. He is thrilled to have Sally in their home.

Frank (Nick D'Agosto) is the head of IT for Juliet's blog and a hot nerd. He has true feelings for Sally but they are not returned, at least at the start of the show.

And then we have the Narrator, aka Future Sally, who is telling the story to her children.
