After learning of Zayn Malik's affinity for comic books with a possible interest in creating his own, Marvel reached out to the young One Direction singer for an interesting chance of a lifetime. Though he could make his own comic in the future, Marvel was interested in turning his likeness into an updated version of Ghost Rider. The result was released this week!

Marvel announced the brand new Ghost Rider series this week with the following synopsis:

"A street race leads a young man on the FAST and FURIOUS road of destiny. Amid an East Los Angeles neighborhood running wild with gang violence and drug trafficking, a war brews in the criminal underworld! With four on the floor, Marvel's newest GHOST RIDER puts vengeance in overdrive!!!"

Excessive exclamation points aside, this definitely sounds like a thrilling new comic. Check out the cover of the all new Ghost Rider comic series' first issue, "Engines of Vengeance: Part 1," right here:

As you can see, this is definitely a different take on the character and we can easily see the Malik influence right on the cover.

What do you think of this new comic book character based off of Zayn's appearance? Do the gaunt cheekbones and the carefully died hair make for a better Ghost Rider? If anything, Zayn is probably ecstatic about this cover!

"If Zayn's not in the studio he's doodling on his notepad," an insider close to the One Direction singer told The Sun earlier this month. ''He doesn't think his drawings are much to rave about, he says he's the worst artist in his family. But he still dreams of releasing a novel and is over the moon that Marvel artists are keeping in touch via email.''
