The sci-fi/horror classic, Alien, captured the suspense and tension of being trapped inside a locked room with an unstoppable killing machine. The Alien franchise then spawned a long list of sequels and will now continue as a new horror shooter game. Players will get to feel that terror from the movie in Alien: Isolation.

From the official Alien: Isolation website, a release date has been officially announced. At the EGX Rezzed in Birmingham, a packed room was told that the horror videogame will be available on October 7th, 2014. Fans of the Alien movies will be pleased to know the game follows the mythology established by filmmakers Ridley Scott and James Cameron.

Plot Synopsis:

Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.

As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.

Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.
