March Madness: Final Four are set, but which team will win it all?
It seems like months since fans have been sitting and anticipating March Madness, and in a flash it's all coming to an end. Fans are both full of excitement at its climax, and full of sorrow that it will vanish from their screens for yet another year. It's one of the most exciting times on the sports calender, and it's easy to see why - it's full of upsets, magical moments, and provides a steady build-up to the NBA draft. The Final Four have been set, and fans are desperate to see which teams can make it to the final. The Florida Gators, Connecticut Huskies, Wisconsin Badgers, and Kentucky Wildcats are the four remaining, but which team will win it all?
The Florida Gators are the favoured of the four. Although littered with problems at the start of the season, they have improved and fought through them all, showing the grit of a true champion. Both Wisconsin and Connecticut are considered possibilities, but many believe it will be either the Gators or the Wildcats, for various reasons.
The Gators appear to be the strongest team remaining, and the Wildcats are the youngest - and arguably most exciting - team remaining. The two couldn't be any more different, yet they're both together in their place as 'top contenders' to win it all.
Wildcats' coach John Calipari said, "I knew when I saw what was out there, we were going to have a tough road." He continued "When you think about who we just had to play. The games were epic games, all of them." He could see a lot more 'epic games,' starting with two more in the next ten days.
Although this is by far a very different Final Four than many had predicted, we are now set for an overwhelming end to the NCAA basketball season. Many of the stars showcasing their talents are definitely names to remember. The Final Four deserve a large amount of credit for their remarkable success, but there can be only one winner when it's all said and done.
