What actress should play the narrator in 'How I Met Your Dad'? Who can fill Bob Saget's shoes in the 'HIMYM' spinoff series?

How I Met Your Mother came to a end this week and though we said good-bye to Ted and his gang of friends, we can look forward to Sally and her pals in the spinoff series, How I Met Your Dad. Greta Gerwig stars as the female counterpart of Ted Mosby and we can expect some great TV when it hits the small screen. But as the cast fills out, there is one important character that has yet to be cast: the Narrator, or future Sally. As we know, future Ted was voiced by Bob Saget, so who will fill his shoes?

The greatest part about Saget being the narrator on How I Met Your Mother is that it took us all quite some time to figure out it was him! Also he didn't really sound like Ted (Josh Radnor) at all, but we accepted it for nine years. He was perfect.

So how can CBS capitalize on this great opportunity to cast a new narrator? There has to be that hint of nostalgia - that "who am I hearing" level of intrigue. What actresses can pull off an older Greta Gerwig while still embodying probably the most important role in the show? Who is someone that we can look forward to hearing from each week, even though we haven't heard from them professionally in a while (a la Bob Saget's career)?

In order to get the ball rolling, we have come up with our own "dream list" of actresses we think could pull off this hefty task!

Ally Sheedy was one of the biggest stars in the 1980s thanks to her roles in iconic films like The Breakfast Club, Short Circuit and War Games. Having her come in to voice the future version of Sally would definitely make viewers a bit nostalgic, plus pinpointing who the narrator is wouldn't be an easy task.

Two stars of David Lynch's cult classic series Twin Peaks appeared on How I Met Your Mother (Kyle McLachlan and Sam Wise) so why not get Audrey Horne into the mix? Sherilyn Fenn was simply marvelous in Twin Peaks and her voice is really easy to listen to. GET ON IT CBS! (We would gladly accept Lara Flynn Boyle, too.)

Jennifer Grey became one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood thanks to her movies Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing and Ferris Bueler's Day Off. Unfortunately she got a nose job, which literally changed that face. Let's try to bring her back, you guys!

Maybe the biggest name on our list is Heather Locklear. She ran the 1990s and has had a pretty successful career since, but we haven't heard too much from her in recent years. Hiring her for the narrator role would be a great idea, plus CBS can afford her!

Lea Thompson is an American treasure - as long as she strays from her Southern accent. If she cuts the drawl, we want her narrating this series!

Or maybe they'll just have Gerwig narrate the show so that the whole "hey that doesn't sound like them" ordeal doesn't happen again.
