AMC is definitely home to some great, dramatic series. One of its newest editions, Turn, debuts at the same time as Game of Thrones. This exciting show follows the first spy of the American Revolution, who happened to be a turncoat British soldier. So if you're looking for a little less fantasy and a lot more nonfiction, this is the show for you!

Animal Planet's River Monsters is definitely not a show you'd see compared to Game of Thrones, but its sixth season premiere is up against the HBO series so we're talking about it. This is honestly an interesting show, though like most Animal Planet adventure reality shows, there's not much payoff. But if you're interested in a fun hunt with the charismatic Jeremy Wade, tune in!

Though this isn't a show, the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards air this Sunday right before Game of Thrones, so you could at least check out the first hour before tuning in to HBO. Plus, Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan are hosting again, so that's cool!
Or you can just watch Game of Thrones and ignore this weird list.
