Leicester City return to Premier League after near 10 year absence

Leicester City were once a settled Premier League side, but once they were relegated they suffered all different kinds of turmoil, including another relegation that, for a short while, left them two divisions below the Premier League. This weekend's results ensured that they gained promotion to the Premier League, and they will be facing the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea next season, but how will they perform?

Leicester's goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, will follow in his famous father's footsteps. His father, Peter Schmeichel, is seen as one of the greatest keepers to ever play in the English game, and now his son will look to carry on his legacy, as well as building his own. Kasper explained his joy, saying "Achieving promotion was our aim this season but we want to win the league now, no question of that. We've got six games left and we want to win the Championship. Tonight we celebrate but everyone who knows the mentality of the team or the staff knows as soon as tonight's over we get back to work. We want to keep pushing on and we'll be back working hard ahead of Tuesday's game [at home to Brighton]. Then the real hard work starts to stay in the Premier League."

The better teams occasionally doubt themselves, but did Kasper's team mates? Not for a second, as he as explained "We've had belief all the way through the season. I think we can look back and see when we scored late goals and had that never-say-die attitude. That helped us immensely and it's testimony to the players and staff that everyone's worked really well together. We never panicked. We stuck at our game and knew we were playing good football. Every team has results which aren't going to go their way but we won nine games in a row and that really propelled us to the top of the league."

It's been a long and hard journey for the Foxes, but now they're back, you'd bet they ensure they never have to go through this pain again.
