Scandal Season 3 Spoilers on 'explosive' finale

The Season 3 finale of ABC's Scandal will air on Thursday, and fans of Shonda Rhimes' series are wondering how on earth Olivia Pope and her friends are going to fix this problem.

Olivia's mother, Maya Pope aka Marie Wallace, has a bomb waiting for Fitz, and Olivia just shut down the only organization (B613) that could have done something about it. And based on two new reports, the key word for the finale is "explosive." Uh oh.

This first preview comes from the "Matt's Inside Line" column at TVLine:

Funny your choice of words, Joanna.... 'The finale explodes into a million different pieces,' Darby Stanchfield told me of the April 17 episode. 'This set of characters, especially over at Olivia Pope & Associates, are more splintered off from each other than ever before. I mean, when we were shooting the episode, I actually thought to myself, 'I wonder if they're actually going to tear down the set and build a new one?' It's that extreme.'"

The "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide reports a similar outlook:

"It sounds like Maya's plan to target the president with her bomb will come to fruition. In other words, expect an explosive season finale! Making matters worse, we hear the finale takes place on Election Day, which means that the lives of even more people, including campaign manager Olivia, will be in jeopardy. Anyone want to guess the victim(s)?"
