Cobie Smulders returning to 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' as Agent Maria Hill
After the transformative events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Cobie Smulders will once again bring the character of Agent Maria Hill to the small screen when she returns for the April 29 episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
TVLine exclusively reported that the actress would return for the episode. Smulders has played her in both The Avengers and Captain America 2, and she also appeared in the pilot episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The site also reports that the character will have "a large role" and that "those who clamored for a Coulson/Hill team-up will get it, punctuated by lots of action."

The appearance will be the first for the character since the end of Cap's second solo adventure, which featured the destruction of S.H.I.E.L.D. at the hands of Cap, Agent Hill and others. At the end of the film, Hill seemingly takes a job in the human resources department of Stark Industries.
The news comes on the heels of the announcement that Samuel L. Jackson would return as Nick Fury for the show's Season 1 finale.
Jackson told New York Magazine's Vulture column that he would appear in the May 13 episode, which wraps up the show's freshman run.
"I just shot the end-of-the-season show," Jackson said at the premiere of his wife LaTanya's Broadway play, A Raisin in the Sun. But he did not reveal any plot details, of course, as he joked he did not want to get "fired and killed" by Marvel.
