Bayern Munich send David Moyes' Manchester United to Champions league exit as their star man ponders switching sides
Manchester United knew that their 1-1 draw at home against Bayern Munich gave them a small chance of qualifying after their second leg tie in Munich, but they knew they'd need something special to progress. Despite taking the lead in Munich, they fell apart and lost 3-1 on the night, and 4-2 on aggregate, meaning Munich are through to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Toni Kroos, one of Munich's main men, has surprisingly hinted he would like to join United, so could he switch consistent success for a team in the midst of rebuilding?
In January Toni Kroos was struggling to agree terms to stay at Bayern Munich and he nearly joined Manchester United. He stayed with Bayern, and the two teams locked in a tug of war for his services were paired together in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. He has by no means distanced himself from the move, and during the morning before United's defeat, rumours were flying around suggesting that he has told everybody he wants to leave for United this summer.
If this is true it must of been weird for the German international having to play the team he desires to join. United left back Patrice Evra looked to send Kroos' team out of the cup with his opening goal, but Munich stormed back, scoring within seconds and rarely letting United breathe with the football afterwards.
It appears United woke the beat with their early opener, but could Kroos take his talents to England and help United with the evident rebuilding the franchise requires?
