Peterborough United look set to enter the League One playoffs, but will their star striker Britt Assombalonga leave them for a Premier League club? The 21-year-old has been watched closely by a host of Premier League teams recently, with reports suggesting that top tier English clubs Newcastle United and Hull City are interested in making a move for the Congo international this summer.

It's easy to see why Britt is wanted. He's young, fast and strong, and the talented forward certainly knows how to score. Peterborough played their game in hand against League One Gillinham on Tuesday evening, needing to win to add some stability to their playoff place, and a close-range finish from Britt ensured Posh would grab the three points.

With Britt opening the scoring, Boro knew they needed another goal to allow for a calmer finish, and Peterborough United captain Tommy Rowe hit a stunning shot which zipped past the Gills' keeper, meaning Boro had the comfort of a 2-0 lead. It could of been easier for Britt and his team mates, as they were awarded a penalty, with Bradely Dack taking Assombalonga himself down, without winning the ball. The 30 goal hitman looked confident as he prepared to take the penalty kick, but his tame effort went straight at Nelson, allowing him to make an easy save.

Although Britt's team could push on and gain promotion, leaving them one level below the Premier League, it looks like Peterborough could have an almighty battle on their hands to keep their man this summer. Will the young forward wear the black and white of Newcastle United?
