Ten years ago Arsenal struck fear in to their opponents, but over time they lost that special edge they had, and thus they've been nine years without a trophy. Many clubs have spells like this, but for a club of Arsenal's stature it's unthinkable, so relief has spread across London, with Arsenal knowing they're one game away from ending that unwanted drought. Their semi final opponents were in no mood to surrender easily, taking Arsenal to penalties, but Arsenal's experience allowed for them to scrape through.

Wigan are the current holders of the FA Cup, but with them also being relegated, they are now a division below Arsenal, so if Arsene Wenger's men were to crash out to them, the press would've launched a scathing attack on the experienced manager. At times it looked like Wigan would deny Arsenal their place in the final, and they looked at their fluent best. Jordi Gomez stepped up to slot a penalty away for Wigan, but soon after Per Mertesacker tied the game, sending it to extra time.

Both teams battled back and forth, and with nothing to split them they had to take the pressuring task of participating in a penalty shoot out. Arsenal's Premier League status truly stood out in the penalty shoot out, with Wigan seemingly running out of steam.

Arsenal will take on the winner of the Hull City vs Sheffield United semi final, and it would seem it's do or die for Wenger. Win the FA Cup and the pressure will be eased, but lose, and fans may force him out of his beloved position as Arsenal manager.
