Liverpool and Manchester City went toe-to-toe Sunday afternoon, and many before the game predicted two things. Firstly, that there would be goals and secondly, that the winner would take a giant step towards being crowned Premier League champions. The game was a game of two halves, with Liverpool grabbing a later winner, making it 3-2, and meaning they look in pole position to win the Premier League.

With the day marking the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster it always looked likely that Liverpool would be emotionally-charged, and Steven Gerrard showed this in its finest form. After the important 3-2 victory he said "It was emotional. We need to keep calm. There's four big games to come. That means so much. They got back into the game and I feared the worst. That's the biggest statement we've made so far. We've showed we're going to take it to the wire."

Gerrard explained everything clearly, saying "That was the longest 90 minutes I've played in. I kept flashing back to how long the clock was taking. It felt like clock was going backwards at one point But that is such a big result for us. We've got four cup finals left. People said that was the biggest one (match) but I disagree - I think the biggest one now is Norwich. We'll let other people comment on whose it is to lose - your experts will have their say. Nothing is ours yet."

Steven Gerrard, who many regard as one of the best players of all-time in the Premier League's history, looks set to finally lift the Premier League trophy, which would be a fitting addition to his glorious Liverpool career. Can they win it all, or will it be a close call, and one that pains Liverpool fans for years?
