Scandal Season 3 Finale draws record viewership numbers
The Scandal Season 3 finale aired Thursday night, and fans are still processing everything that went down just a few hours ago. And it's a lot of fans, too, as the episode pulled in some record numbers for the series.
Scandal ended its third season with its most-watched finale to date with 10.5 million viewers, according to TVLine. It also had a 3.4 rating in the crucial adults 18-49 demographic, another high for the show's finales and the second-best number in the demo for the series thus far.
The series also finished the season with a 39 percent increase in total viewers and 43 percent in the adults 18-49 demo. Season 3 was the show's highest-rated one yet.
In other Scandal news, series creator Shonda Rhimes spoke to Jimmy Kimmel after the show on a special called Behind the Scandalabra and answered some major questions about the finale. Firstly, did Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) really quit?
"She did quit her job, you might watch her on the beach somewhere. We'll have to see next season," she said. "There's that last look after she chooses to ignore the phone call from the White House when she sort of says she's sure to Jake and then she looks out the window when you can really see that she's not so sure."
And is Harrison dead? "You know I can't tell you that," Rhimes responded. Of course, the character's fate is up in the air especially because of the recent headlines about arrest warrants and his marriage.
