'Orange is the New Black' Star Laura Prepon to Return To Series Regular in Season Three
Amazing news today for fans of the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black. Alex Vause will be back full time should the show be renewed for a third season, and lets be honest, there is definitely going to be a third season.
Laura Prepon, who plays Piper Chapman's lesbian love interest Alex Vause on the show, will be headed back to Littlefield Prison fulltime.
Prepon, as well as the creators of the show, received backlash earlier this year when they reported that the character of Alex Vause would not be featured in season two. After an outpouring of fans complaint's, creator Jenji Kohan and Prepon began thinking of a plan to fit the character of Alex into season two. The two came up with a way for her to appear in four of the thirteen episodes of season two; not enough if you ask me but I guess its better than none.
The news that Prepon will be a series regular on season three, gives all of the Alex and Piper fans hope that these two could end up being together again.
However not everyone is happy about this news, Catherine Cleary Wolters, who the character of Alex is based off of spoke to Vanity Fair this week about the inaccuracies of her TV depiction.
Wolters tells the magazine that, "I was not Piper's first, and I certainly did not seduce her," referring to the relationship between Alex and Piper's characters on the show. She goes on to say that the two weren't romantically involved until after they stopped trafficking drugs.
"When we were traveling together I started developing a crush on her. And eventually that turned into a crazy mad love affair. But that was after she had already done the deed that made her complicit."
She also goes on to state that while the show portrays the two as girlfriends, it was never like that in Wotler's mind.
"We weren't girlfriends, we were friends with benefits. I was not the older sexy, glamorous lesbian who snatched her from her pristine Smith College cradle."
Whether the story is true or fabricated, we don't care, just as long as we get to see some serious Laura Prepon screen time in season three.
