Marvel Comics has announced a new sci-fi adventure series starring the young mutant leader of the superhero group, the X-Men. Writer Greg Rucka (Lazarus) and artist Russell Dauterman (Supurbia) will take the X-men's leader across the cosmos in Cyclops #1.

Time-traveling hurts your head if you're not paying attention. This is not the current and older Cyclops, but another Cyclops, from All-New X-Men, from a different timeline. This younger Cyclops doesn't know all the facts that his older and angrier self already knows.

Following the events of The Trial of Jean Grey, Cyclops, also known as Scott Summers, has just discovered his long-thought dead father is actually alive. The orphan suddenly discovers he has a family. Cyclops leaves behind the X-Men to travel with his father, who also happens to be a space pirate, across the universe.

Editor Jeanine Schaefer looks forward to Cyclops' newest space adventure, "I'm beyond excited for readers to see how Greg and Russell are collaborating with this book. Greg is absolutely on fire, hitting every beat you would ever want from a space opera meets intergalactic road trip; and a star is born with Russell's work here - when he's huge people are going to be coming back to this series again and again."

From Marvel Comics, check out the preview pages for Cyclops #1:

Plot Synopsis:

Long thought dead, Corsair, leader of that intergalactic band of misfits the Starjammers, has returned! And he's got a new recruit in the form of his son, young Cyclops himself! Scott Summers is leaving the X-Men behind to stay in space and learn a few valuable lessons from Dad: 1) How to shave, 2) How to talk to women, and 3) How to steal a Badoon spaceship.

Cyclops #1 will be available in stores this May, right when X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters. Let's see how the X-Men's leader deals with his daddy issues in outer-space.
