Deport Justin Bieber petition finally receives response from White House
After Justin Bieber's DUI and drag racing arrest in Florida earlier this year, a petition was drafted to deport the Canadian pop star. This petition received more than 100,000 signatures, meaning the White House had to respond to it. Finally, we received an official response to the petition and some of you might not be too happy.
You can read more on Justin's arrest right here!
"We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture," the online petition states. "We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."
So what did the White House finally say about this petition?
Sorry to disappoint, but we won't be commenting on this one.
The We the People terms of participation state that, "to avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition."
So we'll leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber's case, but we're glad you care about immigration issues. Because our current system is broken. Too many employers game the system by hiring undocumented workers, and 11 million people are living in the shadows.
So there you have it. The old "no comment" response!
