Manchester United sack manager David Moyes

Ten months ago Sir Alex Ferguson left his beloved Manchester United in the hands of David Moyes. Many said it was the wrong managerial choice and early Tuesday morning they were proven right as United sacked Moyes after less than one season in charge. United's experienced player Ryan Giggs has become the interim manager and there's a chance he could get the job on a permanent basis, although that looks unlikely.

Some argued that Moyes needed time, however, he accomplished little and seemingly made the team worse in every way possible. Even if they win their remaining games he has led them to their lowest points total in the Premier League era. He failed to qualify for the Champions League, which is the minimum target for many elite European clubs. Moyes also left United 27 points worse this season than they were at this stage last season.

With all of these negatives and countless of others, it appears the United hierarchy ran out of patience. It's been known for a while that the club will look to heavily invest this summer, spending upwards of $350 million dollars on new players, but it seems that they weren't willing to trust the former Everton boss with that amount of money.

The next manager will have a difficult job, but perhaps an easier, if not different job. Now the task is to improve on what the last man did, rather than the heroics achieved over Sir Alex's career. Who will be the next United boss?
