Lou Ferrigno will voice Hulk in 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron'
The man who is most famous for portraying The Hulk is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to lend his voice to the iconic green monster once again, as Lou Ferrigno will provide the vocals for the monstrous side of Bruce Banner in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The actor spoke to Nuke The Fridge at WonderCon last week and confirmed he would provide the voice for the counterpart to Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner. Ferrigno, who played the Hulk on TV in the late 1970s and early 1980s, has voiced the character in several animated movies, as well as The Incredible Hulk (when he said "Hulk smash!") and The Avengers (when he said "Puny god" to Loki).
Ruffalo's appearance, facial expressions, movements and other physical attributes provided the basis for the design of the Hulk in The Avengers, so director Joss Whedon could have easily decided to just alter Ruffalo's voice rather than bring in Ferrigno to speak a few lines. Instead, it seems as though Age of Ultron will provide a bit of a wink and a nod to fans who remember the television series in which Ferrigno starred alongside Bill Bixby.
In other news, Ruffalo and his co-star Robert Downey Jr. posted a few photos from the Age of Ultron set on Twitter today. Ruffalo even got into a humorous Twitter exchange with Marvel as he asked for permission to post some photos for fans. Actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have a running joke about the company's secrecy with regards to its films.
Are you glad that Ferrigno is back for the sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
