BOOM! Studios has previously invited industry professionals to play around in their creative sandbox of titles. 24: Underground writer Ed Brisson previously wrote a story arc for their Sons of Anarchy comic. Now celebrated artist Felipe Andrade (Captain Marvel) will team up with writer Mike Carey for a special installment of Suicide Risk.

In the ongoing series, Suicide Risk, readers jump into a world where humanity is being overrun by a rising number of supervillains. Beat cops like Leo Winters are utterly powerless to stop these criminal masterminds. The only way he can get out from becoming a "suicide risk" is to change the rules of the game...at any cost.

BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon describes his excitement over the stand-alone issue of Suicide Risk #14, "Filipe [Andrade] is one of those artists who has broken the mold, creating a unique, super-stylized look that explodes off the page. We're thrilled to have him draw a stand-alone story in Suicide Risk and help us broaden the mythology of Mike [Carey]'s epic tale."

Plot Synopsis:

Tension is building as Leo Winters' true past is finally revealed. It's time to explore the origins of two of his closest, most fearsome allies, his sisters Diva and Aisa!

A perfect jumping-on point for newcomers, the stand-alone issue of Suicide Risk #14 hits stores on June 4. Once readers have started with Suicide Risk #14, they will have no choice but to pick previous issues and become a regular follower.
