"The Doctor's Wife" will go down in history as one of the most beloved episodes of BBC's Doctor Who. Written by Neil Gaiman, the episode managed to literally embody the TARDIS into hum form with actress Suranne Jones aching our hearts with her breathtaking performance as Idris. Can we hope for Idris' return now that Peter Capaldi is the new Doctor? Jones thinks it could work!

Sitting down with Toby Hadoke on his podcast "Big Finish," Jones shared her idea of a new episode with Idris and Capladi's Twelve.

She suggested: "Wouldn't it be nice if Peter Capaldi walked into one of his rooms in the TARDIS and found Idris' body there, plugged her in and had a little adventure with her?"

Clearly she's up for returning to the series and we'd love to see her come back! What do you think? Perhaps Gaiman could come back to write this episode as well!

One argument against bringing back Idris is the following, perfect ending to her episode:

Wipe your tears away and let us know if you still want to see Idris come back on a new episode of Doctor Who.

Jones isn't the only former star that wants to return to the show; Matt Smith said he'd come back, too!

This statement came up after a Q&A panel turned to his recent and historic 50th Anniversary Special that featured David Tennant reprising his role as the Tenth Doctor. Along with John Hurt as the mysterious "8.5" Doctor, it was quite the spectacle.

"It was a real historic moment for me," Matt said this week. "I always look at David and go, 'Oh my god. It's Doctor Who!'"

He continued: "David is a great guy and a good friend. It was so fun. Doctors in the same room is just magic, isn't it!"

Clearly the return of Tennant was a huge deal, so Smith entertained the idea of his own reprisal.

He announced: "I'll happily come back for another anniversary!"
