WATCH: First 'Girl Meets World' TV Promo for upcoming 2014 series premiering June 27 [VIDEO]

Girl Meets World, the highly anticipated Boy Meets World spinoff series with new and returning characters, is set to premiere on Friday, June 27, 2014. To celebrate, the Disney Channel has released the first television promo spots for the upcoming series. Check it out right here!

The Hollywood Reporter provies a synopsis:

Girl Meets World follows Riley (Blanchard) and her best friend Maya (Carpenter) as they navigate through John Quincy Adams Middle School in New York City. Their plans for a carefree year will be adjusted under the watch of Riley's parents Cory (Savage), who works as a history teacher at the school, and Topanga (Danielle Fishel). In the premiere episode, the typically studious Riley joins a homework rebellion in an attempt to be more like Maya, whick quickly leads to a rift betewen father and daughter. August Maturo is Cory and Topanga's young son Auggie, Peyton Meyer plays Riley's crush Lucas Friar and Corey Fogelmanis is Farkle, a fellow classmate.

Meanwhile, E! News recently caught up with Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who return as Cory and Topanga Matthews respectively, on the red carpet at the Radio Disney Music Awards this past weekend. The two opened up about returning to portray older versions of their famous characters, now with children, and the fun they have had thus far.

"We're having a ball. It's been a really crazy, but exciting experience," Savage said. "It's not often you can really go revisit a chapter from your childhood and just do it over again. And we're getting to do that, so it's been a lot of fun!"

Fishel added: "I don't think there are very many people who get the opportunity to create a character that so many people remember and then also get to revisit it."
