With such spine-chilling titles as Hellraiser and Next Testament, BOOM! Studios continues to scare its readers with an all-new horror series. Based on the '90s cult classic film, monsters are coming out from underneath the bed and walking among us in Clive Barker's Nightbreed.

Horror master Clive Barker first explored the concept of monsters as outcasts in the novella, Cabal. Just as he did with Hellraiser, Barker wrote and directed the feature film adaptation, which has since achieved cult status. The newly released Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut continues Barker's legacy, presenting the director's original vision of terror. Now, writer Marc Andreyko (Manhunter) and artist Piotr Kowalski (Marvel Knights: Hulk) step into the secret town where monsters live in Clive Barker's Nightbreed.

BOOM! Studios editor-in-chief Matt Gagnon discusses his excitement as a new creative team continues to adapt the bestselling works of Barker, "Keeping with the tradition of telling new stories in canon with Hellraiser, we're very excited to continue that method with Clive Barker's cult-favorite Nightbreed. Marc Andreyko, in addition to being a gifted storyteller, is a die-hard fan of Nightbreed. And artist Piotr Kowalski-who some fans will remember from his stellar work on Hulk-is pushing his style to savage new places. We have the makings of a fan-favorite horror series right out of the gate with this one."

Plot Synopsis:

The Nightbreed are a secret society of monsters and misfits that hide away from humans, but have been a part of this world since time immemorial. Explore both the past and the present of this clandestine tribe as they live in the secret city of Midian, unleashing new secrets and horrors as they fight to coexist with mankind. Clive Barker's Nightbreed #1 contains early stories of two of the town's citizens, Peloquin and Shuna Sassi, and how they came to seek refuge there.

The first issue will come with the main cover illustrated by artist Riley Rossmo (Curse). There will also be two special incentive covers by Christopher Mitten (Umbral) and Mike Mignola (Hellboy)
