'Teen Mom' Back For Season 5- But What Original Mom Won't Be Included and Why?
Fans of the reality drama Teen Mom have reason to rejoice today.
E! News has learned that MTV is in talk with the original girls of the franchise to bring them back for a fifth season.
The show, which ended its four-season run back in 2012, has somehow managed to stay relevant since going off the air. It's no surprise that the network, which has launched successful spinoffs Teen Mom 2 and Teen Mom 3, would want to go back to the original and catch up with some of our favorite moms.
However, the negotiations come with a bit of a sad side note. While Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood have all been asked back, one Teen Mom has been pushed to the wayside.
The gossip site has learned the Farrah Abraham has been dropped entirely from negotiations. Since the show ended, the reality TV star has made headlines for some very questionable un-mother like behavior.
Since the show ended, Abraham has starred in porn flicks Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom and its sequel Farrah 2: Backdoor and More, and was also arrested for a DUI and sentences to six months of probation. The mom received backlash from Teen Mom costars and critics, saying that they were concerned with how her behavior would impact their children.
An insider tells E! News, "Think about the original premise of the show, it was to help young girls make the right decisions about sex and relationship and not get pregnant. Look at what [Farrah's] done since the show. She doesn't belong on it."
The series reboot follows MTV's airing of specials Being Maci, Being Amber, Being Catelynn, and Being Farrah; follow up stories to Teen Mom. The specials were very successful and have lead MTV to their current negotiations of bring the series back.
