Apparently, reps for NYC's luxury Standard Hotel were completely shocked when surveillance footage of Solange Knowles attacking Jay-Z mysteriously went viral on the web:

Earlier this week, the popular venue released this statement:

"We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity."

Well, looks like justice has been served!

The unidentified employee who leaked the violent clip online was recently fired. In another statement released on Wednesday (May 14), the Standard explains that the worker was terminated for "breaching the security policies of the hotel [by] recording the confidential CCTV video." The company also promises to give "all available information to criminal authorities" to help build a case for potential prosecution.

Meanwhile, the real question remains - why did Jay's sister-in-law attack? Are HOV and Beyonce going through some tough marital issues, and Solange was just protecting for her older sis? Or were the apsiring songstress' friends getting a little too wild?

Perhaps even Rihanna was involved... Stay tuned!
