Zac Efron reportedly up for unknown Marvel role
Many popular and talented actors and actresses populate the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and more all bring their characters to life. But Marvel is reportedly looking at a new face, Zac Efron, to add to its roster.
Latino-Review posted an exclusive article on Wednesday to report Marvel is considering Efron for an unknown role:
"We can exclusively report that Zac Efron is being looked at for unspecified role in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. He was given a script for the project just recently and currently no one knows which part is actually in play. The only one that knows that answer is his Manager and he will not comment on it."
The article goes on to list several possibilities for the young actor, including the lead role in the upcoming Netflix Daredevil series and the titular part in a Doctor Strange movie.
This is all just rumor and speculation at the moment, though Latino-Review, which is usually on point with these types of stories, claims it is not speculation that Marvel wants Efron "like everyone wants Efron, because Neighbors is hot." The site also noted Disney declined to comment.
Efron may seem like an odd choice, but remember that Marvel has taken actors who were questionable at best and turned them into mega-stars through these movies. Downey's career revived from the ashes with Iron Man, Evans was in the critically panned Fantastic Four movies, Hemsworth was a relative unknown to mainstream audiences and fans were unsure about the transition to Ruffalo from Edward Norton.
Do you think Efron would be a good addition to the Marvel Universe? Who would he play? Let us know in the comments below.
