Manchester United Fan Loses Liverpool Bet: Fan Pays His Debt In Hilarious Fashion

One year ago, Manchester United won their 20th league title overcoming rivals Liverpool. However since then, Sir Alex Ferguson retired and Liverpool rightfully seen United's impending collapse. The Liverpool fan made a £10 ($16) bet that his side would finish above the reigning champions this season, and surprisingly it happened, but the bet didn't go down quite as he expected.

The fan rightfully handed over a small plaque with United related info and print, with the $16 (in change) glued to the respective years that United won each one of their titles. The £10 was handed over in 50p coins, 20 all together, which equalled one for each title triumph United had over Liverpool. It's fair to say the Liverpool fan would not have been amused at receiving his bet winnings, especially with the monumental, decorative piece it was attached to.

Both United and Liverpool are set to make a massive splash on their squads this summer, so both teams may be a lot closer next season. Liverpool will have UEFA Champions League football to distract themselves with while United will focus solely on rebuilding and aiming to qualify for the Champions League the year after.

It's likely the Liverpool fan will be careful in any of his future betting choices. At least the United fan stayed true to his word and paid his debt after losing the agreed upon bet. Is this the funniest sports betting story of all time? Comment on any that you think tops this one.
