Maroon 5 Adam Levine Admits He Was Too Controlling
Maroon 5 has taken over the summer with their latest hit single "Payphone" and this renewed success has given the frontman Adam Levine a "reality check." Levine admitted to being a bit controlling in the past when it came to the band's writing process.
Their previous album Hands All Over didn't do as well as the band hoped, and Levine partly blames his ego and controlling ways. He shared with UK's Daily Star, "I used to be very controlling of the writing process before, but me checking my ego at the door has proved to be for the better. Who we are is much more clear as a band now."
The band looks much more united and together now. Their newest album Overexposed hit number two on the Billboard 200 chart. After Levine took the position as a judge on The Voice in the last season, Maroon 5 gained more exposure than before.
Levine confessed to Details Magazine, "I felt like people only knew me as a singer who dated pretty girls. People now know that I have a brain."
The band has already started work on the next album and fans may expect new music much sooner than expected.
