BOOM! Studios Announces Frank Gibson & Tyson Hesse’s ‘The Amazing World Of Gumball #1!’ Check Out Covers By Missy Pena, Zachary Sterling, Troy Little, & More!

KaBOOM!, the imprint arm of BOOM! Studios, teams up with Cartoon Network Enterprises to bring Gumball and friends onto the comic book page. Popular webcomic creators Frank Gibson (Adventure Time 2014 Annual) and artist Tyson Hesse (Bravest Warrior) will continue the wacky adventures in The Amazing World of Gumball #1!

Created by Ben Bocquelet, the animated series revolves around the surreal life of young cat and his crazy shenanigans in the fictional city of Elmore. Being a family is first-rate silliness in many of the high-spirited episodes. Since its television debut, the cartoon show has received high critical praise from parents and children. Gumball has won several British Academy Children's Awards and gained nominations from the Annie Awards.

BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon describes the animated TV show's popularity, "Gumball pushes the boundaries of animation and features such a rich world for Frank and Tyson to explore and bring to the comic page. Gagnon continues, "In the tradition of our Adventure Time and Regular Show comics, it's important to us to capture the heart of what Cartoon Network has so brilliantly developed while still being additive and complementary to the overall narrative."

Plot Synopsis:

Living in a mixed media world, Gumball Watterson thinks he's the coolest kid on the block, but his little sister Anais begs to differ, and Darwin just wants to keep them all out of trouble.

The first issue will have variant covers illustrated Missy Pena (Bravest Warriors), Zachary Sterling (Adventure Time: Playing With Fire), Paulina Ganucheay (Adventure Time: Pixel Princess), Troy Little (Powerpuff Girls) and Sonnye Lim (Blondie).

The Amazing World of Gumball #1 will arrive in stores on June 18. New episodes of the animated show's third season will debut on the Cartoon Network on June 5 at 6:30pm.
