Manchester United to Shock the World and Sell Newly Signed Juan Mata to Barcelona?

Manchester United and Chelsea shocked the Premier League and the world in January when the latter agreed to sell United their one- time star player Juan Mata. United were in need of a spark, and signing Mata provided the club with just that, albeit their fortunes failed to change. Could he be heading to Spain this summer?

Many believed although Mata was a quality signing, he simply was not needed within United's system and their playing staff of Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa. Mata, however, came in and added goals and assists in a hurry, quickly becoming a fans favourite.

With United hiring Louis Van Gaal, many believe Mata could leave or be forced to play out of position, which is simply ineffective for with himself and his club. Now rumours suggest United could turn a $5 million profit by quickly selling Mata to his home country's top La Liga side, Barcelona?

Would this be one of the craziest transfers in a long while? Arguably Mata didn't deserve to be sold my Chelsea and should stay with United for a long time, but he could yet again be starting afresh at another new club. It's a testament of how brilliant a player Mata is, but it also shows his lack of versatility, which seems to be killing his hopes of settling down at a top club for a long, successful career.

What should United and Mata do regarding their future together? Could he return to Spain sooner rather than later?
