'Star Wars 7' Casting News, Rumors: Carrie Fisher talks Princess Leia, original cast and more about 'Episode VII' filming
Carrie Fisher is set to reprise her role of Princess Leia in J.J. Abrams' 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII, and in a new interview she opened up about the movie's current film schedule and how the original cast is doing in the new project. She briefly talks about Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, explaining how the project is coming together with the original stars and how their age plays a factor.
"We all look a little melted," she said this week. "It's good to see other melted people. It is good to have us all in a room because it's unique. I mean, I don't suppose they have reunions for the Gone with the Wind gang."
"I looked a little pretentious faking the accent," she said when asked about her first movie role in 1977, when she was only 19 years old. "It was sort of a viral accent - it came and went."
Speaking of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, will we see her iconic bun hairdo back in the 2015 adaptation?
"That can never really be repeated without gales of laughter," she explained. "I've begged them to put the hair back on in grey and just catch me cooking with the hair, like Granny Leia."
We'll have to see how Fisher looks in the film when it hits theaters in 2015, I guess!
Meanhwile, Abrams and his crew have already started filming the project in Abu Dhabi, resulting in a great economic boost for the Unite Arab Emirates.
"We are extremely excited about being part of such a huge movie," Paul Baker, executive director of twofour54 Intaj, the company's production services division, said according to The Associated Press. "It's a good demonstration that we are well on the way to establishing a long-term production environment in Abu Dhabi."
