The Premier League transfer window is open and the battle for top players is well and truly under way. Every summer the big, and small clubs are fighting it out to bolster their squads ahead of the upcoming EPL campaign. Which stars will be heading in to club, and which will be promptly shown the exit doors?
Southampton left back Luke Shaw, 18, has been chased by Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, and United were believed to be the favourites to land the England international. Now it's believed that Jose Mourinho's Chelsea have moved to the front of the line. It's understood that it would take a bid over $40 million. Chelsea are also looking to sign Ezequiel Lavezzi from PSG, which would cost an additional $25 million.
During the peak of his career, Rio Ferdinand was one of the countries best defenders, but the 35-year-old is moving towards the end of his career, which ultimately meant Manchester United no longer needed him. It's believed that he has several offers from abroad, but would prefer to stay in the EPL. Tottenham and QPR are the favourites to land the ex-England international. Whilst London rivals West Ham and Arsenal are fighting it out for Ferdinand's ex-teammate Gareth Barry.
Louis Van Gaal is set to make some big changes to his Manchester United team, and the latest rumours suggest he wants to sign Feyenoord duo Jordy Clasie and Bruno Martins Indi, which would cost the Red Devils around $50 million combined.
